Wa Who

Today was a fun day.  

we went over to play with Kaitlyn.

After Cinderella dress-up, popcorn eating, Haeley kissing and

dumping hand-fulls of sand on top of each other.

It was time to go home.

And take a much needed bath.

To Mom's surprise after I grabbed new towels

I waltz into the bathroom to discover a 

Sofia on the toilet.

Making a very big poop.

All by herself.

"Not get it in the bath"  she says

I help her wipe

We flush it down

"My poop go down the wee slide

It say Waaa Whooo.

It have fun."

First Day of First Grade

First Graders are really cool!

I know,  we have one at our house.

They get to eat lunch at school.

And use their new Star Wars Clone Wars lunch bag.

They already have friends at school.

They have 2 recesses on short days and 3 on normal days.

They get their own desk, with their name on it.

They have a new teacher named Miss Lisa.

She likes Red and she is Married.

And they cry when they find out their fav teacher from last year 

Miss Emily is teaching first grade now.

and all the pretty girls that you were going 

to marry are in her class. 

 It turns out okay because he sees them at recess

and their lines in the hall are right next to each other. 

What a great first day!

We're Back

Hey, I know you have missed me!

The last nine days we have been away visiting my best friend Carrie and her husband Lincoln and crowd in Washington.  It was heaven on earth.  We had a fantastic time.  Playing and cruising around Seattle, lounging around her house,  having fantastic conversations,  the kids were totally entertained and  we just loved every minute.  I will update on our trip later.  I have a lot of unpacking to do and a first grader to get ready for school that starts tomorrow.  Craziness.

Seriously so cute but so so wild and hard to contol

Her hair was straight on the end and her thickness was growing in curly

She still got a lot of compliments. 

I put it in pigtails a lot to have some semblance of control

She is seriously stunning

I think she looks like Marilyn Monroe.  or she has a forty's haircut.

Her bangs give a natural finger wave.

And we will train the straight pieces over time to curl.

She is so so beautiful

And this is at the end of the day when most of the moouse is gone.

In church I had 2 mom's ask me how I did her hair.

I am so happy she got her Daddy's natural curl.

He has more curl than I do.  :)

Grateful Sunday - August 8, 2010

*  Thunderstorms:  We have had a lot of rain and thunder this week.  I have loved listening to the rain and thunder and see the flashes of light from the comfort of my little house. 

*Haircuts-There is nothing like a haircut to make you feel better about everything.  Our entire family had haircuts yesterday and my sister Amy made us look fabulous.  Sofia looks like a completely different girl.  The big reveal will be late tommorrow.  So so grown  up and pretty.  Noah is now ready for school and Kerstens is manageable so he will keep it long longer.  Yippee,  Have I mentioned how much I LOVE his long hair.

* Good Friends -  I am blessed to have many friends that fill my soul and make me a better person.  I  am going to go visit one of my longest and dearest friends later this week.  We are so excited I feel ready to burst.  And I went to a bday party at a friends this week that enriched my heart and made me able to handle the crazy that was the rest of the week.  I really don't know what I would do without good, talented and amazing women in my life

*Busy-  Overall I do like being busy.  I love having things to do and play with my kids.  I am looking forward to Noah starting first grade.  It will add some much needed structure to our days.  One of the side effects at least for me of being over busy is that I get a bit flighty.  No worries, I am working on it. 

I am looking forward to this week.  We have more swimming lessons,  Girls achievement days, a sleepover with Aunt Ginny,  Lunch with Daddy so that Noah can meet his boss (he is really interested so we set it up) and a glorious trip to get ready for and a long drive.   Hooray it is going to be awesome 

Obsessed with the Chest

For some reason my kids have both been talking about ta tas, boobs, breasts, chests, nummies, baby feeders or whatever you like to call them.  It is a big topic around here.

Sofia

*She got a new swimsuit that is purple with Tinkerbell on it.  The top has piping on and about three inches lower more piping with gathers in the the middle.  After we put it on her.  She looks down and says "My boobs look good in this."

*I was getting dressed one morning and Fia picks up my bra and says

"Here are your boobs, Mommy!

Noah

*A couple months ago, Noah and I went on a Mommy-Son date.  Kersten had tutored him in the ways to be a gentleman.  So he was getting all my doors for me and he would offer me his arm when we were walking.  We went at got some cookies and shared some milk.  As we were talking, I explained that it was important to ask the girl questions so that she would know that you were interested.  And proceeded with asking if he had any questions for me.   He put on his thinking face (which includings smacking his lips together and looking up sideways).  When he says 

"Well,  I already know what your boobs are for.

Feeding babies.

So I have no more questions!"

I had to control myself a lot from not busting up laughing.

After we saw Iron Man 2

Kersten and I laughed for a good half hour later that night.

*One night in the bathtub

"When I get old I will get hair on my armpits and places."

My response "That is right"

"And Sofia will grow boobs when she get old.

I have a chest."

My response "That is right."

Busy Summer

Here is a sampling of what we have been doing the last couple weeks.

It has been super fun but busy and we Love it.

July 21

with my 3 beautiful cousins from TX

and some of my nieces and nephews.

I love how in this picture the 3 youngest kids are playing

and the older kids are standing together like we asked.

We fed the ducks and one of them had 5 babies following her around.

The kids were entranced.  Even the older ones.

Thank goodness for Amy who brought 3 loafs of bread

We looked at all the animals. 

Reveled in the pigs, petted the bunnies and ahhed at the baby calfs.

And sat on a tractor.

We ate a yummy collective picnic by the stream.

Laugh, talked and played in the water.

We gathered and piled rocks.

Jumped over the stream and got scolded for it

It really was a very love afternoon.

It was good to be with 2 of my sisters.

Primary Parade and Carnival

Evening July 21

 

Noah rode his bike that same evening in the Primary Parade.

This was a big moment.

He struggles with pedaling.

He rode it all the way to church and in the parade.

He admitted for the first time this summer 

that bike riding is fun.

(On his job chart, he has to practice on his bike everyday

I know I am the meanest mom)

Afterwards, our ward has a tradition of having a big carnival.

It was awesome and everyone in our neighborhood is involved.

They had pony rides.

Noah had so much fun riding his bike 

He had to wear his helmet all night.

 

First time Sofia has ridden a pony.

She loved it and wanted to do it again and again. 

 A big slide,  cotton candy, snow cones, a dunk tank,

hot dogs, pot luck,  a fishing pond, beanbag games, duck pond.

Sofia actually fell in the duck pond and got soaking wet.

So Kersten took her home so Noah could play longer.

It seriously was super fun.

I really really love our ward.

Swimming Lessons

Noah is rock'n it this year.

And Sofia it has to be her idea.
