Treasures #4- Knitted Jumper
Kersten's Oma Christel knitted this cute blue jumper for Sofia. She found some yarn and just wanted to make something for her. The amazing thing is that Christel is legally blind and has not knitted in a very long time. She asked that I don't look to closely at the stitches. It really is beautifully done and something I will treasure always. It is made with love and patience in every single stitch.
This girl has become very opinionated about her clothes and I am glad she will wear this. It really is so soft and we love it and am so grateful to Oma for loving Sofia enough to make her something so lovely.

Treasures #3- Blankets
my son and daughter's blankets that is...
Noah's blanket was made for him by my sister Emilee. He received it on his very first Christmas.
Both of her children loved their blankets and she has a firm belief that all kids need a blanket.
Noah calls his blanket his "B".
He has to sleep with is every night. And really does have a restless night sleeping without it.
In the above picture it was taken in Sept. when he could not walk.
B is such a comfort to him and if you ask him it is the thing that keeps him the warmest.
Emilee surprised both Noah and Kara with a "B" that year.
I remember her excitement and satisfaction in making and giving this treasure to my boy.
I know if I asked him this would be one of his most valuable treasures.
Thank you Em... for taking the time and for this treasure.
Sofia's blanket is hand crochet by my dear friend and her Godmother Carrie.
I love the color and the size. I love that my Carrie made it.
I love the love, emotions and connection it envzoks.
Sofia loves to put her fingers through the holes.
play peek a boo with it and stare at you through the holes.
She thinks she is so funny when she does this.
And she is.
I honestly have to say I don't know if she is as attached to this blanket as I am.
I love it and find it so lovely. Thanks again Carrie....

Treasures #2- Original Artwork
Here is installment number 2 in the Treasures series in my home. I hope you know that my greatest treasures are my children but these are the things we have that I treasure.
I have been blessed in my life to be surrounded by talented artists and I have 5 original pieces of art in my home. I love being surronded by beautiful things, it brings me such joy to see them throughout my home.

My brother Nik, drew this for me and gave it to me for Christmas in 2004. My mom framed it for me and gave it to me for my birthday in 2006. I love the way it is framed, I love and cherish the little boy that is pictured. It was made with love and I just love it. My brother is really talented, I am really lucky to have this from him. It hangs on my wall so you can see it when you walk in the front door

Nik painted and gave this to Kersten and I for our wedding almost ten years ago. Penguins are my favorite animal and look at this adorable penguin on his mom or dad's feet. We keep this painting in the kids room. They love that it is a baby.

This painting is smaller than it looks and hangs in the hallway between my front room and kitchen. Kersten's mom painted it and gave it to Kersten before we were married. It was one of his favorites that his mom has done.

Monika F*, Kersten's mom painted this for us for our wedding gift and framed it for us. It has been in my home since the beginning. I love the view she chose of the Salt Lake Temple. It hangs in our front room with two big photographs of us at our bridals and groomals. Kersten came with me for pics in my dress. I love this picture and all it reminds me of.

This painting was done by Monika F* my mother in law. Christel earned it and framed it and gave it to me for Christmas in 2006. I love the beach and it brings me peace as I look at it. This picture hangs in our kitchen where I can see it all the time.

Treasures #1 -Sweaters
I am starting a new series on my blog. I saw this sort of thing on Natalie's blog and loved the idea. So from now on periodically I will post pictures of the treasures in my home to document them and their preciousness. They are not posted in any kind of order just that I love and cherish them very much.
Kersten's, Oma Christel knitted these two beautiful sweaters for her great grandchildren. She actually knitted them when Kersten was around 16 years old. Knowing that he would someday have children and she wanted them each to have something from her. She knitted a boy sweater and a girl sweater for each of her grandchildren.
Noah in his beautiful baby blue sweater
Sofia in her adorable pink sweater. This picture was taken yesterday. So cute
