Before Kersten and I got married and we talked about our hopes, dreams and desires, I told him that some day I really wanted a library in my house. When I moved all my boxes of just books into our tiny apartment, he commented that he knew I wanted a library but what he did not realize was that I wanted one right now.
Now my dream is coming a bit more real. We got book shelves to cover an entire wall in our front room. It may not be all walls covered in books but it is so much closer. Every time I walk into my house my heart fills a bit more with joy. Seeing all those books. My kids beg me to read to them all day. I have seen them reading more than asking to watch tv. Oh, I just love it

Feel like Grown Ups...
In my dreams I have a beautiful bed
with a head and footboard and in rich black antiqued to look old.
In reality I just had a mattress and a box spring.
In our house our bedroom is really not that big.
A bed like in my dreams would close in the room and make it very small.
So I have been dreaming up what would work for over a year now.
I think I have it figured out.
And the headboard I was thinking of was half off
so I bought it
and it makes me, oh so very happy.
(My camera has been taking fuzzy pics lately, it is making me worry)
Kerst was a little reluctant at first.
Now he says he feels like an official grown up with a headboard on our bed.
He even said he should just trust me when it comes to stuff like this.
I think I need to get that on tape as evidence for later.
I smile every time I walk in my room.
Who knew something so little could make such a difference.
Now I need to paint our nightstands,
find a new bedspread, finally switch the lamps over,
find a painting for over our bed..etc......

Sofia's Room - House - Big Girl Bed
Sofia's Room
I painted her dresser in anticipation of what I would like her room
to look in the future of our own house.
Plus she shared with Noah and his room was blue red, green and navy.
So adding pink and yellow worked perfect
When we bought this house her room is Pepto Pink.
Of course she loves it.
Everytime I walk in there I feel like I should have stomach problems
It has gone on me the pink.
And she loves it.
I have bought a pink I know I will like better
and will paint her room in the very near future.
For her 1/2 birthday she got a new big girl bed.
and we took down her crib last night.
It was a bit sad knowing that I will never need another crib again.
This is what the inside looks like every morning.
Full of friends and toys and her three blankets she has to sleep with.
Recently she will only sleep with Noah's old Bob the Builder pillowcase.
She is such a funny girl.
Here is the other side of her room.
This room is still in progress as most of the house is.
I should take a picture of her closet.
She has the best closet in the house.
Lucky girl. And I love it because most of her toys fit in there.
She slept in her big bed last night.
I love her bedding.
I have not found her actual headboard etc
I can't find one for a reasonable price and that I like.
So for now her boxspring is on the floor.
I am in love with her bedding.
Fia is in love with her bedding.
She points out the birds and dogs and girls.
I had a Holly Hobby bed when I was little.
I love the colors. It fits perfect with the color scheme
I am trying to create for her room.
Here is a close up of the bedding.
I originally wanted her room very vintage.
And as she got older and her personality is so crazy
I thought mellow didn't fit.
But this fits perfectly. I combines all the elements I wanted.
She loves it. I love it.
And I can work with it.
I am so happy and so is she.
I did have to lay down with her a bit before bed time.
She was super excited and could not calm down.
But overall the first night was very successful.
I go back and forth between wood furniture or white.
What are your opinions?

Light switches
Sofia's Room
The picture is when Fia was one year old.
And now you can see the color scheme of her room too.
Noah's Room
The picture of Noah was taken when he was just barely 2
on the steps of the Salt Lake Temple at my brother Nik and his wife Lena's wedding.
I love how little he looks and that he looks so proud boyish

Noah's Room - House
In a new series
I will show you our new house one room at a time.
I don't believe that even one room in our house is "finished"
in decorating, painting etc.
I will also do updates if something drastic changes.
So today here is Noah's room.
here is the view from the doorway.
His only request with our new house was that he has a blue room
When we moved in. The blue wall was red
Obviously we painted it blue for him.
He says he has a Star Wars Room now.
But he wants to keep his Wall-E bed.
His 'N Force" of animals sits on his ledge
and his favorites stay on his bed.
"Pal, Tom and Baby Whale"
Most of his toys and big books and Star Wars books
are house right across in the cube shelf
on the opposite wall from his bed
are his bookshelf, calender, Star Wars Stamps and dresser.
(this wall is not complete yet)
This is what you see as you walk in the room.
His closet straight ahead
which he calls his Darth Vader closet.
It is red after all. The same red it used to be on the blue wall.
I want to hang a curtain with a Darth Vader on it someday.
and his Yoda Painting by Kieran.
When we were looking at our house for the first time. Our children were with us.
This was the first room that Noah walked in and said
"This is MY room"
His only complaint is that he misses Sofia.
He wishes that she still slept in his room with him.
(just discovered, Noah noticed a "gross banana" on his bed)
His room was not as clean as I thought it was when I cked it
