Painting Sofia's Kitchen

Before
Last weekend Dad went backpacking, so Sofia and I decided to do something fun.
We painted her kitchen.  This kitchen used to be mine when I was a girl.
As you can see it needed a little tender love.
Sofia had to help so I put one of my paint shirts on her.
And we began.
I love painting furniture.
I love the evolution of it all.
As something old looks fresh and new.

After
I painted it a retro blue color.
I matched the color of the paper that I made her light switch and the letter I in her name.
I LOVE how it turned out.
Originally I was going to get some red and pink flower handles from Hobby Lobby.
And I still might get them.  I had these knobs hangin around so I used them

Sofia loves her new kitchen.
That is blue, the "color of moonlight" just like Cinderellas dress.
I am very happy with how it turned out.
I was nervous how it would look on her bright pink walls
I think it turned out fantastic.
I bought 3 cans of paint at Home Depo
and all of them were different shades of blue for different parts of my house
Hmm,  I see a theme right now.

Light switches

I made these last night for my kids rooms and I love how they turned out.  They make me really happy.

Sofia's Room

The picture is when Fia was one year old.
And now you can see the color scheme of her room too.

Noah's Room

The picture of Noah was taken when he was just barely 2
on the steps of the Salt Lake Temple at my brother Nik and his wife Lena's wedding.
I love how little he looks and that he looks so proud boyish

Sofia's 1 year book

So here is the project I was working on a couple of weeks ago.  Now I am making Sofia her Jesus book so that is why my blog has been lacking as of lately.  I could not decide what page to sample so I just put all of them there except for the page with the letter from me and the ones with her one year old picture on them.  I have not printed those pics yet.  So enjoy,  cause I know I sure enjoyed making it.  Isn't she the cutest girl?  Today is her 13 month birthday and I did not want anyone to miss a post monthly about my Sofia.

Letters, Hair and Cuteness

This post is just about some random things.  I posted this picture just because Sofia is so darn cute in it.  And she is wearing the cute outfit that Achim and Louise E* gave her. She adores climbing into this chair.  She just chills in it thinking she is so big.  Because she is getting so big
I have been experimenting with my flat iron.  I have always had curly hair since at least 6th grade.  So that my hair is straight is quite different to me.  Kersten likes it and Amy, my sister, the hair genius, said I did a great job and I am now quite trendy.  Who knew?  I have not been trendy for  most of my mom years.
I finally hung the cute letters I made for Sofia's wall.  I love the way they turned out.  Better than I thought.  So feminine and beautiful.  Noah now wants to put paper on his name in their room.  I told him we would look into it after Christmas.  Sofia has already tried to eat the letter A.  I had to fix it a bit but I don't think it looks to bad.   I love the ribbon hanging from each letter.  Someday their will be a colored wall behind these but until we own our house that will not be happening.
