Last Friday, Noah was off school. So we went on an adventure to the dollar movies and saw Gnomeo and Juliet. It was a little bit of heaven sitting in the theatre between my two children, munching on popcorn and laughing so hard we almost peed our pants. I love hearing their gasps, ooohs and ahhs during the show.
At the end of the movie as we were walking out, I asked each kid what their favorite part was. Sofia promptly chimed in "All of it". Noah on the other hand kept talking about the Flamingo "Featherstone", in the movie you discover that he used to have a wife and when their owners split up, they were seperated. And in his wisdom he says "I know what it is like to have a love torn apart by other peoples choices, Don't let that happen to you." At the end of the movie, one of the gnomes learns how to use the internet and finds the wife and they are reunited. Noah said that his favorite part was when the flamingo was reunited with his wife. He asked me if that was my favorite too. I of course agreed. He kept talking about how happy it made him that they were together again.
As we got into the car, he says "Mom, I think I am going to cry. I am so happy." I turn to look at him and he has tears streaming down his face. And he keeps saying "I am just so happy for the flamingo." I rubbed his leg and told him that he was going to be an amazing man and father someday because he has such a tender heart. "Mom, I already Know that."
Sofia was worried that Noah was so sad and kept telling him it was okay. He tried to tell her that they were "Tears of Joy" for the flamingo. This is something she totally can not grasp. I told her that I cried tears of joy because I was so happy when I had my two kids.
Noah's prompt response "Yeah, I cried too when I had all 41 of my kids."
That explanation is a whole other post for another day.
I just love this boy. He just gets more and more fun.

New Moon
I saw NEW MOON today. Yes, my dear friend bought tickets months and months ago so that we could see it together. It was dreamy and wonderful and all that jazz. I got to go with my brother Nik, his wife Lena, my husband and one of my best friends Kieran and her husband Kevin.
I had to see this movie the first time with Kieran. I adore going to movies with her. She has the best laugh and is so enthusiastic about Twilight and just movies that it is contagious. It would have felt totally wrong to see it without her. We took a self portrait last year at Twilight and did so again today. She looked super chic. I wore purple with my black trench coat that is shiny. Trying to look a bit more vampirish. I don't think I pulled it off to much. We were a bit giddy and giggly. It was super fun. She is a great writer and I know on her blog this adventure will sound a lot more exciting. I just love this woman.
I loved it way more than the first Twilight movie. It had some awesome cinematography. This is the book that you are suppose to start falling in love with Jacob. And in this movie, Jacob is WAY hotter than Edward. I have always been an Edward fan but today I was totally on the Jacob page. Some of those scenes just took my breath away. They had some standups of Edward and Jacob outside the theatre. Of course we had to take pictures. I had to touch Jacobs chest
and in the one of just me and Edward looks like his arm is around me and I am snuggled in. We did get a picture of Nik licking Jacobs face. Last year we had one of him licking Edward. But mine turned out all fuzzy. I hope Kieran got a better one. So here is last years
Above is a picture with my Edward, he actually is much more like Jacob. A lot hot, a bit angry and oh so cuddly and warm. I am so glad he came with me. It was glorious holding his hand and making eyes at him.
I won't give away any spoilers about the movie or anything although most people know the story. It was fabulous being with my love, my brother and my best friend. And just being a girl and having fun. I loved it. It was a great day. I also got to go to lunch at Five Guys with my brother and sister Amy. Who was amazing and watched my kids and even took Noah to school. I owe that woman big time. Overall one very fabulous day.

Juno

This movie totally rocks my socks. It is so hilarious. It makes me so happy. I saw it a couple of weeks ago and bought it on tuesday. I have been doing that lately buying random stuff, I have not done that in awhile. I love the language, the writing is so witty. I do hate the soundtrack but it adds to the strangeness of the movie. It is beautiful, heartwarming, heartbreaking and funny. If you haven't seen it yet. You should even if it is a bit crude. I LOved, LovED, Loved IT!

Inconceiveable: Princess Bride is 20

I saw this somewhere in internet land and was shocked to see that "Princess Bride" is 20 years old. I found this website that showed pictures of the characters then and now. Some of them were quite shocking. This movie is a classic.
I actually watched this movie sometime during my 30 hours of labor with Noah as a distraction. How many of you have dreamed of Wesley saying "As you wish" to you again and again. Or quoted lines from the script thinking you are quite hilarious. Well, I love this movie but I love the book even more. I just might have to pick it up again. This book was the first one my brother Nik finished all the way. I think that is quite the accomplishment for at the time a young boy. Nik can still quote the entire movie and I am sure act it out for you as well. Wow, what fun this is.
