Sofia Party at the F* house

I have some great pics of camping that I will post later.  But I wanted to post some fun pictures of Sofia's party at Kersten Parents house.  It was delightful.  With yummy food and good company. We had hot dogs from the grill, potato chips, watermelon and veggies.  So delicious and so many of her favorite foods.  She also got a bag of M&M's as you can see on her face.   It was really fun.  I think Sofia loved it.
Virginia made this cake for Princess Doodle pants as she calls her.
It is chocolate her favorite.  I love the butterflies that is her theme this year.
The grandparents got her this sweet ride.  She was so darling when they brought it out.
She walks right up and opens the door and squeals, beeps the horn and turns the key.
It was a perfect reaction.
Virginia, Josh and Noah made her some necklaces and purses.
Here she is waving bye bye to leave in the car.  She is all set.
Noah had to share the car.  She did not let it bother her that Noah got into her car.
She just climbed right on top of him and started playing.  It cracked me up.
they were both laughing hysterically and having a great time

It was fun to celebrate this silly baby.  She is so full of life. Love her

Sofia Caroline is 18 months old

Sofia is 18 months old today.  We decided from her birth that we would celebrate her birthday on her half birthday since she was born so close to Christmas.  So we are celebrating today with Kersten's family and with mine on tuesday.  So with no further ado I will write 18 fun and silly facts about our girl.

  1. She LOVES to tickle herself and everyone else too.  She lifts up her shirt to show off her belly and goes "ticaticatica" with her tongue sticking out a bit.  She tickles her feet , my feet, her brothers belly, any belly she can get to and if she can't see it she will lift up your shirt for the most tickle ability.  You can even hear her coming up behind you with her fingers wiggling and her little voice in tickling mode.  She always laughs with delight when she is done tickling.
  2. Whenever you walk into her bedroom she will raise her finger to her lips and says "Shhhh"  to be quiet.  She does this also whenever she sees a baby
  3. "Look" is her favorite word.  She points and says "look, look".  She especially likes ceiling fans.  This is also a request for you to tell her what something is or if something is quite pretty.  All day long we hear look look look.
  4. She loves purses.  She will sling a purse around her shoulder with her arm straight up in the air to keep the purse from falling and start walking toward the door waving bye bye.
  5. Sofia has a sensitive little soul.  If someone she loves is sad she will pet their head or hair and say "Aye, aye"  to be soft and will quietly do this until she is acknowledged.
  6. She now knows karate.  She goes every week with her brother.  And now her dad, uncle and numerous cousins are taking.  It is a family event.  She with do rear elbow strikes and say "kieye" over and over again.   She is really proud of her new skill.
  7. Sharing is her favorite.  But only if it is on her terms.  She shares her food, drinks and binkies with anyone who will take them.  She leaves sippy cups under Gearolds pillow so he can have a drink.  She will always try to feed you food she already has chewed.  She is so generous. No worries if she is playing with something and does not want to share we do still have the normal 18 month old fits.
  8. This girl loves meat.  Give her chicken, fish, hamburger or beef any day over bread or fruit. She will always accept chocolate anytime.
  9. Her favorite toys are her Dolls.  She is  a really good mommy, hugging and kissing her baby, rocking her to sleep, feeding her a bottle and banging her head on the kitchen floor.  She loves sticking her finger in their eyes.
  10. She is always thirsty.  This girl is a camel.  Drinking all day long
  11. Obsessed with faces.  She loves pulling, poking, rubbing and bonking into our faces.  She loves putting fingers in ears, noses, eyes and mouths.  She squeals with delight each time.
  12. She gravitates toward girly things.  She is surrounded by boy toys and seems so happy when she discovers a girl toy.
  13. She is a gymnast.  She climbs on everything.  She tries to flip down when you are holding her.  She has really flexible feet and legs to.
  14. Kersten will start a beat for a song and Sofia will instantly start  dancing.  She bounces up and down, twirls around and waves her arms in the air.  She dances in stores to the music, in the car all over.  She loves it when we are all dancing with her.
  15. She is into everything.  She has to discover everything right now.  She is Trouble with a Capital T.  I am amazed about what this girl can reach and get into.
  16. She does not appreciate getting messed with.  She does not like getting her hair done.  If I tell her she looks pretty she gives me her monkey face in displeasure.  But if a male gives her a compliment that her bow is pretty.  She poses and leaves it in.
  17. She has a staccato machine gun laugh and she uses it often.  She still is methotical in studying the world but now the joy she takes from everything is infectious.  She loves her daddy and points to his picture or him and says "Daddiee"  over and over.  She has him wrapped around her finger.
  18. We went swimming and they had a ton of slides at this pool.  She would point to the slide and say "ide, ide" and when she went down it she said "Weee".  As we were leaving she would point to it and say "Wee ide, wee ide, wee ide"  trying to get away to slide some more.  If we hit a bump in the car she would also say "Weeeee".
We love this girl.  She sure keeps us busy.

Old and New

Old Glasses

So I got new glasses.  I am super excited about them.  Sofia has slowly been breaking them down.  One day about two weeks ago, she tore the right side arm right off of them while I was in the shower.  She knew she was in trouble.  My sister Em went with me to pick some new ones out.  I walked around for about a week and a half with my glasses perched on my nose.  They kept giving me headaches because they were crooked. Kersten says my new glasses look fun and funky more than the ordinary blah like before and fit my personality better. I was lucky enough to also get a pair of Sunglasses that are RayBans and the frame name is Jackie O.  So You can imagine what they look like.  So with no further blah  blah blah here is me with my new eyewear.

Classic Sofia

I love this picture of tweet-um Doo or Sofia  this is when we were building the rooms in Gearold and Emilee's house.  Sofia painted the floor for us.  This totally captures my daughter,  chocolate smeared all over her face, dirty from head to toe and getting into mischief.  I asked her one morning when she showed up mysteriously with chocolate on her face if she can sniff out chocolate and as clear as day she said "Yes".  She is like Kersten's family,  all the woman in his family are crazy about chocolate

I.....

i am... a wife, mother, daughter, sister, friend and not quite human but a dancer for sure
i think... about crafts, blogs, my children and my hot husband.
i know... that the Church is true (that is the first thing that came to mind)
i want... my own house,  a place to call home with my children
i have... so many blessings to be grateful for.
i dislike... being told what to do
i miss... running around in my underwear
i fear... failure,  it holds me back more than I would like
i feel... it is so important to let your children use their imaginations to find out who they are
i hear.... my Jedi knight son fighting bad guys upstairs.
i smell... white cheddar Cheez-it and Noah's hair (he is sitting on my lap)
i crave.... watermelon, little chickens and ice cream.
i cry... more than I use too but still not enough
i usually... tickle my children after any discipline. When we are through with it.
i search... for perfect mother moments and time with my husband
i wonder.... about the near future.
i regret... the consequences of my health.
i love...my life and my little family
i worry...too much.  I lay up at night worrying
i am not... as organized as I would like
i remember... random details
i believe... in miracles
i dance... frequently
i don't... like being in limbo
i write...not enough, and it never comes out like it did in my head
i win... on tuesdays
i struggle... with what to feed my children and thinking about food.
i lose... when I compete with my son.  He is really fast getting ready.
i wish... that people would actually hear what others say not just listen
i listen... to my children's laughter
i don't understand...why people hurt other people's feelings
i can usually be found...on the computer, reading a book or on the floor with my kids.
i am scared... that we won't make it
i need to lose.. the bad habit of playing with my hair
i forget...  the tiny details.
i am happy... when I am with my little family

Robot Hand

Have any of you ever seen a Robot Hand on a real boy?  Well, I definitely have.  My son Noah,  oh, sorry again but his name is Anakin.  He is always correcting me.  He lost his hand in a battle with Count Dooku.  And now it is  mechanical and he wears this glove 24/7 days a week.  He says his hand is gold and black.  In the old Clone Wars movies there is a scene when they lift up the golden hand and say "Hocasset" which means Ghost Hand in that alien language.  He asks me to be the old shaman and lift his hand and say this over and over again.  We laugh and think it great fun.

He started wearing both his Darth Vader gloves to school everyday in April, about the time we learned we had to move.  He then started wearing just one.  I thought it cool kind of a Michael Jackson thing.   He has a fit when we have to wash it.  It gets really stinky as you can imagine. His hand now that it is warm outside is always really sweaty. He wears it sleeping, running, fighting, playing at all times.  He is very good about taking it off to go potty and wash his hands.  What a good boy.  He knows where his glove is at all times.  He loves it.
I figure it is one of those things that is not worth the fight.  So he even wears the glove to church.  The other day on our way to primary, he got really emotional and started acting really upset.  He told me he did not want anyone to see his robot hand.  I told him not to worry for he could just keep his glove on the whole time.  He is a bit stressed about his new class .  It turned out perfectly for they were talking about the Holy Ghost in class.
And they used his glove as an object lesson.  He loves participating so it worked out well.  And now his teacher understands to be sensitive about his robot hand.  It worked out well.
He was really thrilled and corporative when I asked him to take pictures of his hand.  I have had lots of people comment and ask about his gloved hand.  I figure you only get to be 5 once in your life.  In his mind he is really good guy Anakin before he starts making bad choices and becomes Darth Vader.  So of course he has to have a robot hand.  And he found the glove to protect it.  I have asked if he wants authentic gloves just like Anakins, he says yes but only as a backup glove when this one has to be washed.  What a silly creative little man

My Grandma turns 90

My favorite Grandma Billie turned 90 on Monday.
That in and of itself is quite impressive.
We had a small party for her at my mom's house on Sunday.
It was my sister Em's birthday that day so we doubled the celebration.
So here are the two birthday girls while they are being sung too.
Here are some of my favorite photos of that day.
My Mom Jeanne and her Mom Blanche or "Billie"
After dinner etc, all of us kids and my mom told my Grandma some of our
favorite memories of her and while we love her.
We all were crying the whole time and we videotaped it too.
Here is my brother Nik expressing his love.
Self Portrait of Noah and me.  He is so darn handsome
Love this boy
Me and my Girl.  Oh my sweet Sofia tweetum Doo
Sister in Law,...Lena at her best
Amy or Mimi
Sofia pushing her brother all around the driveway.
She likes to take charge.
All the kids and my dear sweet husband played with sidewalk chalk outside
while we were all inside crying.
It was really good times.  Happy Birthday Grandma
We are having the big extended party when my aunt and family come in July

My Conversation with the Boys before Bed

Spencer: "Noah has a cute Butt.  He should put a tatoo on it that says Hot Mama"
Me: "So would I be the hot Mama, since I am his mom?"
Spencer: "No, it would be Jaden at my school, she is a hot mama"
Noah laughing this entire time
Me: "Noah, do you think any girls are hot?"\
Noah: "You and baby"
Me "Ahh, Noah that is really nice of you to say.  Do you think any girls at school or church are hot?"
Noah:"Oh, YES, lots and lots of girls.
Spencer: "What about Lily?"
Noah:  "No she is my bud"
Me: "What about Taye or Adrianna?"
Noah: "Oh YES, Taye has long hair and Adrianna wears flowers."
"I like hot girls, Mom."
Spencer; "Lou, can I tell you how I fell in love with Jaden?"
It was the first day of school and I walked in the room and saw her in my class.  And bam I fell in love and then I fainted.
Me: Well, Spence I did not hear about you fainting on the first day of school that is a big deal.
Spencer: Well, that is because I fainted in my mind
Me:  "Oh, well that makes sense."
Spencer:  I want a tatoo on my butt that says Hot Mama Jaden
Me:  Well you should have your Uncle Nik draw it for you so that it looks professional.  It would look pretty cool that way.
Spencer:  I am going to call Uncle Nik
Noah: "Me too Mom"

My life in Pictures

Here are pictures from before and during my illness in my life.  That is how it feels now.  I am actually moving around today which feels like a miracle.  My doc told me that I had Bronchitis that was on it's way to Pneumonia. So he gave me some super hard core antibiotics and now 3 days later I feel like I could have been human once.  We all still have that horrible hacking cough but we are on the mend which is good.

Here is Noah on his last day at school holding a snake.
At the Snakes and Tails program.
See how his cheeks are flushed,  this is the start of his fevers
This is Twinkletoes the tortoise, Noah walked back and forth with him for about 10 min
These are Noah's best friends from school.
Camden, Lily and Noah, The Three Musketeers
Sofia's First Haircut
She had to play with Dad's face to distract her
There are so many advantages to having a sister as a professional hair stylist.
Amy and Sofia.  After the haircut.

Noah in the process of his cut.
I laid on the couch to watch so I would not miss the first haircut of Babe.
Noah was feeling manly with his shirt off and he did the cutest dance when
he was getting sprayed with water
Good times
