My Front Yard Trees today

For Once, Then, Something

OTHERS taunt me with having knelt at well-curbs
Always wrong to the light, so never seeing
Deeper down in the well than where the water
Gives me back in a shining surface picture
My myself in the summer heaven, godlike
Looking out of a wreath of fern and cloud puffs.
Once, when trying with chin against a well-curb,
I discerned, as I thought, beyond the picture,
Through the picture, a something white, uncertain,
Something more of the depths—and then I lost it.
Water came to rebuke the too clear water.
One drop fell from a fern, and lo, a ripple
Shook whatever it was lay there at bottom,
Blurred it, blotted it out. What was that whiteness?
Truth? A pebble of quartz? For once, then, something.

Chocolate Chip Cookies

Noah made his very own chocolate chip cookies today. He has been in a fun mood today. He keeps putting on his "B" (blanket) and jumping of things. He says it gives him "Powe". I walked into the kitchen and he had pulled out our chocolate chips and was pushing his chair over to the cupboard with the flour. I asked him if he was going to make Cookies. He said "yeah, Cook- EEes" I commented it would be a fun surprise for Dad when he got home. He said "yeah me, mom too". I asked him if I could help and we got to cookin. He scooped and dumped each of the ingredients, some of them mom helped to measure. He broke and egg in his hand cause he was a bit to fast for his mom's help. And then he put his hand on the eggs while mom cracked them. We at first took turns scooping the dough onto the pan but after a bit Mom did not get a turn anymore, Just Noah. He would say "Scooop and DUmp". He is very proud of his yummy cookies and he actually went and got the camera so mom could take pictures. We had a really fun afternoon. I am still reveling in how big he is. Thank you to Carrie for the wonderful yummy cookie recipe. It is the best

Cool

My new favorite conversation with Noah is this:

Mom or Dad: Noah, are you a Jedi?
Noah: NO
Mom or Dad: Are you Darth Vader?
Noah: Yes (with enthusiasm)
Mom or Dad: But Darth Vader is Naughty and makes Bad choices
Noah: NO, Cool Cool Cool

Sorry if you have heard this from me already. But I wanted to get it written down because I love it

Obiwan Kenobi in Noah language is "Mo Haa" and Daddy is Obiwan when they play
Mo Haa might also be Lightsabers
Lightsabers are "Shhoo, shhoo"

One night while going to bed we asked him who should turn out the light. He said "Me". He stood on his bed and put his hand outstretched and consentrated on his light and said "ZZshzzz" trying to use his Force powers. Unfortuntely, he was looking at the light so Kerst or I could not turn it out. He seemed a bit disappointed but we just told him to keep working on it.
Just so his Uncle Dave knows that we are doing our best to teach him the correct way of the force.

The Legend of the Pink Boots

Once upon a time, the Lord of the Manor went to market to get nourishment for his family. Upon arriving at market he saw a pair of pink boots for the marvelous price of 5 dollars. The Lady of the Manor needed new boots for the winter snow. He promply purchused them for her. When he brought them back to the manor, the Lady was very excited for the deal and expressed gratitude to the Lord of the Manor for finding said boots for her to play in the snow with the Little Lord of the house. The next morning when the Lord of the Manors Heir the Little Lord arose after a restful sleep. He ran into the kitchen for his morning refreshment. He noticed the new pink boots immediately. He ran over for inspection. He made noises of approval and continued to eat his morning meal. A little while later the Lady of the Manor noticed the boots missing.

She found them in the possession of the Little Lord. He then informed the Lady that they were a spaceship and could fly. He showed her a triangle piece of paper that could stick out the top of the "spaceship" and blast the enemy. He had taken his Obiwan and Clone trooper figures and used them as the pilots for the ships. The Little Lord played with his spaceship all morning before the family when to church, after church he continued to fly them around the house. When it became time to go supper at the Lords parents house. The Lord of the Manor told the Little Lord that he needed to leave the spaceships at home. The Little Lord started to cry and throw a royal fit. The Lady did not feel it worth the fight to have the "spaceships" stay home. The Lord of the Manor wanted to battle and informed the Lady that it was a bit embarrassing to have his son carry around pink boots. Well the Little Lord won that battle and took them to show his Grandpa and Grandma F. who both thought it to be adorable and entertaining.

The Little Lord wanted to have his spaceships eat supper with him and did not let them out of his sight. He inspired his other cousins Josh, Sam and Charlie, to grab other boots in the house and use them as spaceships. The Little Lord later took them to bed with him to keep them close to him throughout the night. The first thing he grabbed as he arose this morning was his pink "spaceships". They have been flying around all morning. In complete joy and contentment. The moral to this story is that you don't need to buy your Little Lords and Ladies the actual toys at the market, Just purchuse a pair of fasinating, fun and entertaining Pink Boots for the Lady in the House.
