Wednesday Words

*  I have been a bit slow on blogging.
Partly because I have no quiet moments on the computer
and also because I don't want to be redundant.
My life is pretty much the same.
Busy being a mom, and trying to stay sane.
So here are some random words on Wednesday.

*I was talking to my mom today.
And she made the comment that every time she talks to me
I am changing Sofia's diaper.
I responded with "well I feel like all I do with her right now
Is change her diaper
Or try to keep her away from the toilet."
After we had a good chuckle.
She told me that I needed to write that down somewhere.
So here it is.

*I admit it.
  I watched both 3 and 2.
In that order.
I watched High School Musical.
In backwards order.
And I loved it totally.
Noah asked me to dance each time a song came on.
For that reason alone I will forever love these movies.
I now have a slight school girl crush on Zac Efron .
Now I have to just find a way to have them more at my disposal.

*One of the reasons that I have blogging stress.
Is that each time I sit down
at the  computer the kids flock to me.
Sofia wants to be on my lap
and Noah starts begging to have his half hour of games.
For example I started this post this morning at 10:23
with interruptions, food, pick ups, laundry etc.  I am posting now.
So I wait until night and then I think of all I could create or clean
and creating mostly cleaning usually wins.

I am obsessed with making bows for Sofia's hair.
Kieran has taught me some of her trade secrets.
That I am not willing to divulge.
So now each time I see an outfit of Sofia's
I imagine what I need to make for her hair.
It is a good obsession and a good night activity.

*So there you have it some words on Wednesday.

Tampons = Missiles

Last night I was playing with the kids in their room before bedtime when Noah comes running in from the bathroom with a tampon in his hand. He says "Mom, what's this?" I replied "It's a tampon, but what do you think that it is?" He got this huge grin on is face and showed me that he knew it was missile. He jumped up and down and said Missile, missile over and over again. He then stuck the tampon in his pajama pants like a gun holster and walked around with it like this the rest of the night. Playing guns and missiles until bedtime.

Kersten and I had a good laugh over this for a good ten minutes. We thought Dave his Godfather would be proud. Years and years ago we were having dinner with my cousin Dave, I don't remember where or anything but I do remember that a tampon fell out of my purse. Dave then pick it up and asked why I keep Rocket ships in my purse. He then proceeds to fly it around making space ship noises. This went on for a bit, while I was a deep shade of red. From that day forward, Kersten still calls them rocket ships. And now I think Dave would be proud of Noah's assessment.

Who knew that tampons could be so very entertaining?

Because I want to and I like making stuff

I saw this on Lena's and Kieran's blog and I thought this would be a fun thing to do. I love the individual aspect so it is not something random.

The first five people to comment on this post will get something made by me! My choice. For you. This offer does have some restrictions and limitations:

1. I make no guarantees that you will like what I make!
2. What I create will be just for you.
3. It'll be done this year (hopefully sooner than later.)
4. You will have no clue what it is going to be.
5. I reserve the right to do something extremely strange.

The catch? Oh the catch is that you must re-post this on your blog. The first 5 people to do so and leave a comment telling me you did will win a marvelous homemade gift by me! And I have to be able to contact you somehow!

Good luck!

disclaimer:  if you don't want to post this on your blog  but still enter that is so cool with me

Grateful Sunday 2-8-09

First Steps:  Sofia took her first two steps in a row on friday Feb 6.  I was confiscating the crayons and she took two steps to reach them.  Kersten and I started clapping and she loved it and clapped with us for a good couple of minutes.  She repeated the event on Saturday.  Even more trouble is coming with a big walking girl like her.

Red filing cabinets:  I got this old file cabinet from my mom and last weekend I spray painted it RED.  Oh,  it is so much prettier now.  It makes me smile just to look at it.  Although, it caused a lot of grief in the process, it really is lovely.

Good friends:  We have had a busy weekend with some friends.  Ben and Shaunelle came up from Provo and hung out with us most of yesterday.  It was fun to see that Jaimason and Noah still play well together.  They are moving to TX in June so I am glad we got to play some before they leave.  Also, there was a surprise b-day party for my old next door neighbor.  It felt so good to catch up with friends at an adults only party.  They even hired babysitters for all the kids, so Noah felt like he had a party too.  He did tell us there are no bad guys at their house so he got a bit bored.  Silly boy

Healing:  a week ago Wednesday Sofia burned her hands pretty severely on the oven door.  The blisters were so sad and she cried for a solid 3 hours afterwards.  Her hands are looking so much better.  I am so grateful that our bodies can heal themselves and that she can still move them around and that they were not more severe.

Moods:  The last couple of weeks have been quite emotional.  Kersten and I have both been extremely busy and haven't seen each other for more than a couple minutes. I have struggled keeping it all together and at a reasonable level of saneness.  I feel a surge of energy and drive to do what needs to happen.  My kids seem to be getting into a good groove .  That pic I took earlier today is so hilarious with those big grins.  I could just eat them they are so tasty and cute.It is nice and I am so proud and happy that Kersten's job is secure as it can be right now and that he is working so hard in school.   I really did catch a good one

Burn Notice Obsession

I am obsessed and I am reveling in it. Loving it and completing embracing my obsession. A lot of you have either been told about it, heard a casual mention of it or something. I am obsessed with the show on USA called  Burn Notice.   It really is so good.  I am proud to say that I have hooked other people because it really is that good.  As shown here and here on my sister in law Lena's blog,  her obsession is full blown also. It has been compared to shows like McGuyver, the A-team and Alias (a bit less intense).  I have not been this excited about a show since we watched Alias.  I am hooked.

One night while talking in bed,  Kersten said he wanted to be just like Micheal Weston (Jeffrey Donovan).  I don't blame him,  he is a really cool character.  Totally messed up childhood, he has been burned so he cannot be a spy anymore and very inventive and imaginative.   He narrates the show as it is going on and as he solves problems for people he says why he is doing it or what will blow up best.  He has a great smile.  At first I wasn't sure if he was worth a full blown crush.  But as the season progresses, he is so cute.  I love his character.  His ex girlfriend is Fiona who they call Fi and she love explosions and used to work for the IRA in Ireland.  Their chemistry and relationship is fascinating and some of the best moments of TV ever have happened between them.  Sam Axe is a great character too.  He is an old buddy also a spy but retired.  Who tries to live off of sugar mamas.  And has some very witty comments.

Okay,  now I just feel like I am rambling.  It is on USA on thursday nights so check your local listings if you have cable.  It is worth your time.  Fun, clean, action  packed, with just the right amount of romance.  Love it

Sample of Sofia's One Pictures

Here is a sampling of Sofia's one year old pictures that Amelia Thelin took.  She has so talented.  I am so very grateful to her for taking these pictures.  I am having a difficult time choosing just one.  Thanks Amie
