Anniversary Celebration

Here are some pictures taken when we got back after our anniversary celebration. Noah was really excited we were home. I guess a couple of hours was too long for him. We went as a family to see Shrek 3 today. Noah loved it and Kersten and I enjoyed it a lot too. It was really darling. Noah thought it was cool that Dad stayed home today. And that he got a "Coke Coke" (root beer) at the theater. It was a nice relaxing fun day together

My sister Amy and her husband Jason came over and watched Noah for us while we went to dinner. We had a certificate from my old work for Market Street Grill. It was really yummy. We even had enough for dessert., It was just so nice to have time to talk and reminence about our life together. I do just absolutely adore my husband, Afterwards we went wandering and shopping a bit at Target. It was perfect. The shirt I am wearing in these pictures is my favorite shirt right now. I love that it is a bit different and colorful. It is the shirt I was wearing that I had my fingernails match for my manicure, pedicure.

Happy Anniversary

Today Kersten and I have been married for 9 years. It is crazy to think that we have been married that long. One thing that is for sure it has not been boring. Kersten is always trying to make things fun and spice things up a bit. Our joke right now is he laughs and teases "You knew what I was when you married me." Which is true, so now when I embarrass him by dancing in the streets singing, I remind him of the same. I reallly could not be married to someone more suited for me. I love him to pieces.

Thinking back to that beautiful day 9 years ago it only rained when we were inside. The flowers were beautiful around temple square and we both arrived at the corner of temple square at the same time. The best part of the day was of course the ceremony and sitting int he celestial room before we got married. I was the only bride in the brideroom and it was so fun to be pampered and fussed over. My sisters still tease me that they have never seen two people kiss more on their wedding day. All day, Kersten sang songs he made up to me about the day. That is probably my favorite memory. It was really cute and he still makes up songs about our life. We rode a carriage from the temple to our breakfast. An elementary class clapped and yelled "YOu finally did it" That felt so true. It was a perfect day, my bridesmaids in yellow saffon, with daisies everywhere and lemons on the tables. I still would not change much. I wish that our scanner worked so I could post a cute picture of the two of us. We look so young. It makes us laugh now. I loved it and I am so grateful that I married the man of my heart

Friends Moved

Today was a sad and tragic day at least for Kersten, Noah and I our friends, Ben, Shaunelle and Jaimason moved. We have just in the last few months become really good friends with them. As Kersten and I have learned as we have been married longer, it is rare to find another couple where everyone gets along together. We found that in these guys, Although they are only moving an hour away it seems like it is farther. Kersten and I tease that we inspire people that we love to move away from us. Noah and Jaimason have become really good friends and they ask to play together. They are so opposite sometimes that it makes us laugh. For example while Noah is practicing his lightsaber skills, Jaimason will be playing Dad with the stroller and baby doll. They have rubbed off on each other though. I will catch Noah pretending to take the baby shopping and Jaimason now will play swords. They play so well together. Noah is now the only 3 year old in nursery moving up to Sunbeams next year. For me it takes awhile to feel really comfortable with someone and Shaunelle and I have found our place. I will miss her tremendously. Kersten and Ben understood each others sense of humor and both loved to play X-box. They shared our love of movies and conversation. I am still a bit in denial that they moved. We will miss them tons and will just have to make the effort to get down to see them

Music and Lyrics

I have a recent obsession. I have a personality that easily becomes obsessed. Right now, I am obsessed with the movie "Music and Lyrics." Kersten took me to see it at the dollar theatre awhile back with Nik and Lena. And I knew from the opening credits that I would throughly enjoy this movie. It starts out with a music video phaux the 80's. If you grew up in the eighties and were old enough at that time to be aware of music and music videos and other "cool" things from that time. It is quite enjoyable, it just takes you back. I love the hair and clothes and especially the hip movements that Hugh Grant does, I love 'Alex" sardonic comments about his past stardom and the hip new Cora Cora semi ignorance of the real world. It is just to fun. I love the character of Rhonda, played by the girl in 3rd Rock from the Sun. She is so hilarious as a crazed fan of his glory days. The script isn't brilliant but there are many quoteable moments.

Needless to say my action adventure, shoot them up, car chase loving husband does not have a lot of really nice things to say about this movie. It is pure chick flick. Luckily I have few women friends (Amy and Kieran) who share in my obsession to some degree. I even burned the soundtrack and listen to it in my car. It makes me happy and it is easy to sing along too. It has that feel good quality that lacks so much in some of the new music of today. So I am grateful to my sweet husband for allowing me to own it without to much teasing and grumbling. And now if I just want to "Pop" in the DvD just to watch the music video I can. Oh what joy this gives me

Mother's Day

Mother's Day was Wonderful. I have 2 of the most amazing men.
Kersten has planned a Mother's day surprise for over a week now. He has a hard time keeping secrets from me. So he wrote everything down in a letter and sealed it in an envelope and told me not to open it until May 10. That way it was not his fault if he ruined the surprise. It was mine if I opened the letter. I think he enjoyed torturing me a bit. The only clue I had was to look hip and cute that day Thursday dawned a beautiful hot day and my husband came home a bit after noon and sent me off for a pampering day. He set up an appointment for a pedicure and manicure at a salon. When I first walked into the salon I thought Kersten had sent me on some Vietnamese adventure. No one spoke English. They just yelled Vietnamese to each other. Then a man around my age took me aside and started working on my hands. I got a bit more comfortable as he started talking to me. They had a huge screen tv on one of their walls that he told me was Vietnamese American Idol. It was actually quite interesting. It was complete heaven to be pampered. The guy turned out to be a master. My nails and feet look fantastic. I found a picture of kinda what my nails look like (similar color etc. I didn't get a picture taken before one got chipped). It was really fun. I was told I could not come home until about 5 so I had a couple of hours to do whatever. It was weird I did not have any errands or anything to do. So I went and browsed in some craft stores and some scrapbooking stores. That evening Kersten had a babysitter for Noah and we went to dinner with some friends, Kiel, Kristi and Anthony,Sheryl. We ate at the Mandarin in Bountiful. I have only been there a couple times long ago. It was mighty delicious and so fun to be out. After we met up for custard at Nielson's. When we picked up Noah he was tired but not wanting to come home. He had to much fun and of course was spoiled by his Aunt Virginia.

On Friday, My mom and Grandma invited all the girls to go to an exhibit at The LDS Church Museum that opened that night called "Something Extraordinary". It was an exhibit about Relief Society and some of the things and projects they had done throughout the years. It was fun they had a chair my great aunt Virginia Cutler brought back from Ghana on one of her many trips. It was my Grandma's Sister. My mom remembers sitting on the KIng's chair in her aunts house. They had some amazing stories and dresses on display. I am really glad I went. It was fun to be with the girls from our family.

Saturday we had a BBQ at my sister Emilee's house. We just did a potluck and hung out together. That is a picture of all of us (the girls) together that night, the men were their too but since they can't be mothers, they were excluded from the picture. I feel very spoiled. Kersten said he asked Noah if he wanted to give mom the fun time out or the fun dinner. Noah chose the fun time out, ( I would have too). He said my nails were pretty. Noah also made me a beautiful card in Nursery that he proudly showed me the stickers and colors he chose for the card. I am feeling a bit spoiled and loved. I am grateful for all the fun Kersten planned for me and giving me a bit of free time. I love ya babe

What Jane Austen Character Are You ?

I am Elizabeth Bennet!

Take the Quiz here!

You are Elizabeth Bennet of Pride & Prejudice!
You are intelligent, witty, and tremendously attractive. You have a good head on your shoulders, and oftentimes find yourself the lone beacon of reason in a sea of silliness. You take great pleasure in many things. You are proficient in nearly all of them, though you will never own it. Lest you seem too perfect, you have a tendency toward prejudgement that serves you very ill indeed.
Hooray, she is my favorite and I honestly answered them as truthfully as possible
